Standards for Residential Aged Care Services consist of 12 modules.
Of particular interest and relevance to Diversional therapists is Standard 3 –
Resident Lifestyle. This deals with:
- Emotional Support,
- Independence,
- Privacy & Dignity,
- Leisure Interests & Activities,
- Cultural & Spiritual Life and
- Choice & Decision-Making.
Diversional therapists should take a holistic approach to all standards and endeavour to continually re-evalutate and improve upon existing systems.
